Ingredients

  • 1 +¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 + ¼ cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1 egg lightly whisked
  • ¼ cup cheese shredded

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F
  • In a large bowl, mix flour with baking powder, salt and spices
  • In the same bowl, add yogurt and knead dough to mix until flour is fully combined
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll and knead the dough into one smooth ball and divide dough into 4-5 equal pieces (these will be your bagels)
  • To shape the bagels, roll out each piece of dough into a log, joining the two ends together to form a circle
  • Place bagels on a parchment- lined baking sheet. Brush each bagel with egg wash and sprinkle with cheese.
  • Bake bagels for 25 minutes, or until tops are slightly golden, then allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving

Notes

*YES 1 TABLESPOON of baking powder is correct. Instead of using yeast we use all purpose and add baking powder to create a self rising flour that helps give these bagels some RISE!
