This Blender Green Juice Recipe is fresh, flavourful, and packed with nutrients. No juicer needed, just simple ingredients and a blender.

Blender green juice in a glass

This Blender Green Juice Recipe is my go-to when I want something fresh, hydrating, and easy to make at home, without needing a juicer. I love it because it keeps things realistic and accessible. There's no fancy equipment, no straining, and no specialty ingredients. Just leafy greens, crisp veggies, fruit for natural sweetness, and a bit of ginger and lemon for brightness. It's an easy way to add more plants and variety to your day while still tasting fresh and flavourful.

Recipes like my electrolyte drink and lemon turmeric shots are staples in my routine because they're simple, affordable, and easy to prep yourself. This green juice fits right into that same category.

Why This Recipe Is Dietitian Approved

    1. Easy way to get a boost of nutrients. This green juice includes leafy greens, herbs, and fresh produce that provide vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in one easy drink.
    2. No fancy equipment needed. Unlike traditional juicing, this version uses a blender, making it more accessible and helping retain more of the fiber from the ingredients.
    3. Fresh and flavourful. Balanced with apple, lemon, and ginger, this juice has a bright, refreshing flavour!

    Blender Green Juice Recipe

    Ingredients

Ingredients for blender green juice including kale, cucumber, water, lemon, ginger, celery, apple and parsley

Kale. For our leafy green of choice! If you prefer you can replace the kale with spinach for a mild flavour or even arugula for a more spicy flavour.

Parsley. For added freshness and nutrients!

Ginger. Ginger is great for digestions and immunity and adds a wonderful spic to this green juice

Water. We use water as the liquid of choice in this juice for a neutral tasting base! If you would like a little added sweetness feel free to substitute some of the water with 100% orange juice!

    Celery. For an earthy flavour!

Apple. I recommend using granny smith apple as it provides the most tart yet sweet flavour, i find the taste of some more mild apples such as red delicious or macintosh will get overpowered by the other ingredients in this juice

Cucumber. For added water and additional nutrients! I recommend an english cucumber as opposed to persian cucumbers for the higher water content

The complete ingredient list with measurements can be found in the recipe card below.

    Instructions

Kale and parsley in a blender
    1. Place kale, parsley and water in a blender. Blend until smooth (I find blending the kale/ parsley with the water prior to adding all other ingredients helps it break down finer.)
Cucumber, ginger and apple added to the blended ingredients in a blender
    1. Add the remaining ingredients including ginger, celery, apple, cucumber and lemon juice.
    Juice in a glass
    1. Blend on high until liquified, about a minute. Divide into two glasses and serve as is. For storage: pour into a 1 liter mason jar and refrigerate 3-4 days.

    Substitutions and Variations

This recipe is naturally gluten free, vegan, dairy free, and nut free as written!

For variations you can get as creative as you like- I recommend trying this recipe once and adjusting the flavours to meet your personal taste preferences the next time!

    Our key flavour makes include:

    • Ginger- adds a slightly spicy taste
    • Celery and parsley- adds an earthy taste
    • Apple- adds natural sweetness
    • Lemon - adds a fresh, tart citrus flavour

For additional sweetness I recommend adding pineapple, orange or even watermelon!

For additional herb forward freshness I recommend experimenting with different fresh herbs (fresh mint is an amazing addition)

    Equipment

    • High-powered blender

    Storage

Pour the blender green juice into a 1 liter mason jar and refrigerate 3-4 days.  The juice may slightly separate once in the fridge however just shake up the jar before pouring into a glass and serving.

    Top Tips for Success

I highly recommend using a large high powered blender for this recipe! The speed of your blender will affect how smooth this juice is! Using a slower blender will result in a thicker consistency.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I substitute spinach with kale?

Yes of course! Kale creates a slightly more earthy or "green" tasting juice whereas spinach will result in a more mild, apple forward juice.

My juice is too thick. What should I do?

This is an easy fix! I find sometimes if the blender is too slow the ingredients do not get as blended as we need, so all you need to do is add a bit more water!

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups kale
    • handful fresh parsley (about 1 oz)
    • 2 cups water
    • 1 inch piece of ginger, peeled
    • 2 large celery stalks, trimmed and roughly chopped
    • 1 granny smith apple, cored and stem removed, chopped
    • ½ large cucumber (with the skin on), chopped loosely
    • ½ lemon, juiced

    Instructions

    • Place kale, parsley and water in a blender. Blend until smooth (I find blending the kale/ parsley with the water prior to adding all other ingredients helps it break down finer.)
    • Add the remaining ingredients including ginger, celery, apple, cucumber and lemon juice.
    • Blend on high until liquified, about a minute. Divide into two glasses and serve as is. For storage: pour into a 1 liter mason jar and refrigerate 3-4 days.

    Notes

I highly recommend adding the ingredients to the blender in the order listed in the recipe above. Blending the greens with the liquid prior to adding everything else is CRUCIAL to creating a smooth green juice without chunks of kale!
