These air fryer brussel sprouts with balsamic glaze aren't just any old boiled sprouts. Perfectly crispy and packed with flavour, you'll want to eat the entire bowl.

Why you need these air fryer brussel sprouts with balsamic glaze
The recipe that has converted over 8 million people into brussel sprout lovers. These aren't just any old boiled sprouts. These are the BEST crispy air fryer brussel sprouts.
I firmly believer that the reason brussel sprouts get such a bad rep is because people just don't know how to cook them properly. If I'm being honest, I used to hate them too. Then again, I used to steam frozen brussel sprouts and then toss them with a little butter and salt. If anyone has ever tried steamed frozen brussel sprouts you know that they literally just taste like a little ball of unflavored mush and they are not good. So for all the haters out there- I feel you I really do. But I promise if you just give them one more chance you too can be a brussel sprout lover.
Ingredients for this honey balsamic brussel sprouts air fryer recipe
Brussel Sprouts- Obviously these are the main ingredient, so you quite literally need these.
Olive Oil- You can use any cooking oil such as avocado oil, canola oil etc. This helps coat the sprouts to help them crisp up while cooking.
Balsamic Vinegar- I'm not sure why but vinegar and brussel sprouts is such a good combination.
Honey- I really find that adding honey to brussel sprouts makes them taste AMAZING. The sweetness, pairs very well with the balsamic vinegar and helps to neutralize the harsh bitter flavour commonly associated with brussel sprouts.
Red Pepper Flakes - The amount of red pepper flakes can be customized based on how spicy you like things! If you like a little more heat- add more flakes. If you like a little less heat- add a less!
This isn't ingredient but to make these air fryer brussel sprout you will also need an air fryer. I personally love this one! However any air fryer will work! I have also been told you can make these in the oven by just roasting them at the same temperature for longer but I haven't personally tested this variation!
How do I get these shaved brussel sprouts so crispy?
The secret to these crispy brussel sprouts is all in the cutting. I choose to cut these width wise (or shaving them), rather than the typical length wise cutting method. This makes sure that instead of getting the typical oval shape, you get perfect little shreds of sprouts. By making this a shaved brussel sprouts air fryer recipe, I find it really helps allow the air fryer to create an even crisp.
Do I need to air fry these honey balsamic brussel sprouts?
In other words… can you use an oven to make these amazing brussel sprouts? This is a question I get asked every single time I post an air fryer recipe and the answer is… YES you can definitely use an oven. The only different is the cook time will vary slightly! For these brussel sprouts I recommend following the recipe as written, spreading the shaved brussel sprouts evenly on a parchment paper lined baking tray and roasting at 400 degrees F for about 20-25 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through cooking.
Pairing Suggestions
These would also taste AMAZING with some chopped sweet potato and bacon bits mixed in! My mouth is watering just thinking about how good of a combination that would be.
They would also pair perfectly with these stuffed sweet potatoes for a an amazing meal. Or add them to this fall harvest salad for the perfect side dish!
