It's time to level up your yogurt bowl. You've had yogurt and granola, but with this recipe I'm pulling out all the stops.

My Greek yogurt and granola banana split has all the best toppings in one recipe: we're talking berries, sweet banana, chia jam, and runny peanut butter.

Oh, and we can't forget about the chocolate granola for crunch and textural satisfaction. It's absolutely essential. This parfait is truly a party in your mouth.

    Ingredients

Ingredients for Greek yogurt and granola parfaits, including bananas, jam, raspberries and nuts.
    • Banana
    • Greek yogurt
    • Berries
    • Granola
    • Low sugar jam
    • Peanut butter

    Instructions

    Slicing bananas in half lengthwise.

Slice your bananas in half lengthwise.

    Adding banana slices to jar.

In a glass jar or bowl arrange both slices of half of the banana.

    Adding yogurt to jar.

In your glass jar, add a layer of the yogurt (about ¼ cup), top with fresh berries, a sprinkle of granola and 1 tablespoon of jam. Repeat once more.

Finish with a drizzle of peanut butter and enjoy.

    Substitutions and Variations

To make plant-based: Swap out the Greek yogurt for plain coconut yogurt and mix in ¼ cup of chia seeds to add in protein and help it thicken.

To make gluten-free: Use a gluten free granola! My granola recipe can easily be made gluten-free by using gluten-free oats.

Feel free to use whatever kind of berries and nut butter you have! Both fresh and frozen berries work great- I love frozen berries because the juices colour and flavour the yogurt as they defrost

    Equipment

    • Mason jars

    Storage

These Greek yogurt and granola parfaits are good if left in the fridge up to 5 days in an airtight jar.

    Top Tip

For the best peanut butter drizzle, place peanut butter in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for about 15 seconds.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to use Greek yogurt?

I like Greek yogurt because it's high in protein and has a thicker texture. You can also use skyr, which is an Icelandic-style yogurt that is even thicker. If you don't have Greek yogurt, check out the tip listed above (under Substitutions) for an easy hack!

Is Greek yogurt and granola a balanced meal?

It sure is. Greek yogurt is a great protein source. We've also got fibre-rich in our fruit and granola, along with healthy fats from the peanut butter. I'd definitely call that a balanced meal!

Omg??? I’ve been getting a little sick of overnight oats and this was the perfect switch up! The granola was a great crunch, and the bananas on the side were so fun. Will be making again!! #nourishedspring
