This Ranch Dip Seasoning is one of my beloved pantry staples. Dairy-free, lower in sodium, and perfect for homemade ranch dips.

Jar of homemade ranch dip seasoning.

If you haven't made a ranch seasoning blend from scratch, you need to try it. It's one of my favorite easy pantry staples to make at home, and so delicious. Once you have a batch made, it's so easy to add to yogurt and cotttage cheese for an easy high protein ranch dip.

Dips aside, this flavorful seasoning blend is delicious in pasta salads, tuna salads, and seasoning your favorite proteins. It's one of my easy tips to spice up any recipe, and having all the herbs and spices pre-mixed makes cooking effortless. Plus, making ranch seasoning at home is a great lower sodium and dairy-free option. You really can't go wrong.

Why This Recipe Is Dietitian Approved

    1. Minimal added sodium. Storebought seasoning blends can be surprisingly high in added sodium, which is why I love making homemade versions to keep on hand.
    2. No buttermilk powder. Most ranch seasoning packets have buttermilk powder, but I wanted to make a dairy-free version.
    3. Easy homemade ranch dip. Once you have this ranch seasoning blend, it's so easy to make homemade ranch dip by mixing it into yogurt or cottage cheese.

    Ingredients

Ingredients including dried dill, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, onion flakes, salt and pepper.

Dried herbs. In this ranch dip seasoning recipe, we use dried parsley, dried chives and dried dill.

Onion and garlic. We're using a combination of onion flakes, onion powder and garlic powder for the most flavour.

Salt and pepper. Essential for flavour!

    Top Tips for Success

I recommend shopping at your local bulk food store so you can grab what you need without having too many extras. The total for all these ingredients cost me $1.50!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Why is there no buttermilk powder?

I wanted to make this a dairy-free friendly ranch seasoning. This way this ranch seasoning can be added to a dairy-free yogurt of choice to make an easy dip.

How do you use the ranch seasoning?

I love adding it to greek yogurt or cottage cheese to create a high protein veggie dip or salad dressing. It would also make an amazing addition to a ranch chicken recipe.

This is excellent! The taste is much fuller and more flavorful than the packets or store bought ranch dip. I’ll be using it from now on.

I'm ok with that. Dry dill has a weird flavor for me. Thank you

Love this recipe and can't wait to try but I'm not sure if I'm missing something... what do I mix it with? Sour cream? Mayo? It only gave the dry ingredients.
