These healthy Greek turkey meatballs with feta are juicy, packed with flavour and a great lower fat protein option to add to your salads or bowl!
I have always loved Greek culture and cuisine. When I first had the opportunity to go to Greece I instantly fell in love with the country. I loved the sunsets, the people, the Greek approach to the eating experience and most of I loved the Food! That's why I knew I needed to find a way to try to bring some of the Greek culture into my household.
These healthy Greek turkey meatballs are a weeknight staple in my household and I'm hoping they become one in yours too!

Serving suggestions:
Okay you might be thinking 'ya Nicole that's great I love meatballs but I need MEAL inspiration I can't just eat meatballs.' I completely feel you. My (not-so) secret formula to creating a healthy, balanced and satisfying meal is to pick a protein source, choose a veggie and then decide on a carbohydrate source.
These healthy Greek turkey meatballs are the perfect protein source to add to your balanced dinners. Not only do they taste amazing, but they also will impress anyone you make them for. I personally make some variation of a Greek bowl (served in a self-serve buffet style) for every family get together or holiday and it's always a hit!
- Greek bowls: Serve over fluffy quinoa or orzo with your choice of leafy green, halved cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced cucumber quarters, sliced red and green peppers and white onion (I like to toss my peppers and onions in a bit of olive oil with salt and pepper first), crumbled feta cheese. Top with tzatziki. (This is my personal favourite way to eat these healthy Greek turkey meatballs).
- Over orzo or Greek rice or potatoes with roasted veggies ( I love eggplant and peppers) on the side!
- As a topping on any bowl you are making this week (they'd be great in this pesto pasta salad).
- In a Greek pita- Similar to a wrap, just wrap up a few meatballs, with some veggies, and tzatziki in a pita and enjoy! (You can even brown them in a pan to get a crisp outside- YUM!)
- On their own as an appetizer with a bit of tzatziki for dipping
Honestly whatever way you decide to eat these you will be in for a treat. They are a great lower fat protein option that is packed with flavour! Get ready for these Greek meatballs to completely level up any recipe without a ton of extra effort!
What ingredients do I need for healthy Greek turkey meatballs with feta?
Ground turkey- For these meatballs I decided to use ground turkey meat. This is a variation from the traditional method of cooking Greek meatballs which will use ground lamb or beef. Both of those will work in this recipe beautifully as well however my family typically has ground turkey on hand most often and it is a lower fat option for anyone wanting a slightly healthier variation of the traditional meatball.
Olive oil- Look for a extra virgin olive oil. I personally like this cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil as it has a very fresh flavour and works wonderfully in many recipes. One tip for olive oil is always making sure it's stored in a dark environment to help ensure it stays as fresh as possible.
Spices- I used oregano and red pepper flakes to help bring some of that Greek flavour into these meatballs!
Salt and pepper- Necessary in any recipe. Feel free to customize the amounts of each of these to your desired preferences.
Garlic- Again, necessary. Garlic just elevated the flavour profile of any dish.
Feta cheese- A staple in Greek cuisine. You can't have healthy Greek turkey meatballs with feta if you don't have any feta!! I personally choose a feta cheese that is packaged in brine as it as the most authentic flavour to me and stores the longest in the fridge.
Breadcrumbs- Helps hold everything together and soak up any excess moisture! I used plain breadcrumbs!
Onion- I decided to use yellow onions in these meatballs as I personally find red onions can kind of take over sometime sin terms of flavour. However white, yellow, or red onions will all work if you have a certain preference.
Parsley- The secret to any fresh, Mediterranean dish is FRESH parsley. I would not recommend substituting fresh parsley for dried as the flavour just isn't the same. There's just something special about fresh parsley that can bring so much flavour to any recipe.

Pretty good, I used goat cheese instead of feta cheese, but I’d recommend the feta for more of a salty touch. Very easy to make and can be make in a airfryer as well!

It's great to know they still turned out ok with the goat cheese swap (AND in the air fryer)! Thanks for trying this!!
